BMMSA’s Dr. Sheetal Chandhok, Main Line Health’s Dr. Basel Ramlawi and the cardiac team at Bryn Mawr Hospital, part of Lankenau Heart Institute, recently performed the first Hybrid AF and left atrial appendage exclusion therapy procedure in Pennsylvania, using the Lariat percutaneous suture delivery device. Bryn Mawr Hospital is the only hospital in the tri-state region performing the procedure.
Hybrid AF Therapy treats the heart on the outside and inside, creating a more effective barrier to block the erratic electrical signals that cause long-standing persistent atrial fibrillation, commonly referred to as Afib. Main Line Health continues to lead the way in innovative treatments for patients with long-standing persistent atrial fibrillation and stroke reduction.
